"Maybe It's You"

ER nurse Sloane Ferrell escaped her risky past―new name, zip code, job, and a fresh start. She’s finally safe, if she avoids a paper trail and doesn’t let people get too close. Like the hospital’s too-smooth marketing man with his relentless campaign to plaster one “lucky” employee’s face on freeway billboards.
Micah Prescott’s goal is to improve the Hope hospital image, but his role as a volunteer crisis responder is closer to his heart. The selfless work helps fill a void in his life left by family tragedy. So does a tentative new relationship with the compassionate, beautiful, and elusive Sloane Ferrell.
Then a string of brutal crimes makes headlines, summons responders . . . and exposes disturbing details of Sloane’s past.
Can hope spring from crisis?

Wow! This was such an amazing book that I hated to see it end. From the very beginning I was drawn into this beautifully written story. Candace Calvert captured not only my attention, but also my heart with this book. Micah and Sloane both have their flaws and past histories to deal with and overcome, but even though you expect that they will by the end of the story (as that is the case with most books) the journey that they take to reach total forgiveness and redemption is so powerful and inspiring. You will also find mystery, action, adventure, intrigue, and romance mixed into this wonderful story. I will admit that the mystery part kind of snuck up on me, but when I realized who was behind some of the things happening and that person’s true identity, it was one of those slap your forehead moments because I should have thought of that possibility sooner. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading more books by Candace Calvert.
Just a heads up this is book three in the Crisis Team series. You do not need to read the other books to know what is going on though. I did not get to read the entire series, but I hope to remedy that really soon.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tyndale Publishers. All opinions are my own.
