VBS: Searching for the Truth

Summer is here! This usually means that we are preparing for Vacation Bible School at our churches. VBS is a lot of fun, but as we all know it is also a lot of work. I know some of you have already had your VBS this year, and I apologize for not having these posts about sooner, but I would still like to share with you some things that I have done in the past for VBS and share with you ways that I prepare for VBS.

I thought I would start with sharing with you some of the decorations I used for a Spy themed VBS.

I had a picture of all of the kids, and each day I would choose the best behaved child to be the Spy Of The Day. The kids really liked this because they could not wait to come into the room and find out who had one the special honor.

On the Left: Is our Evidence Vault.

On the Right: Is our evidence board. All week we gathered clues to track down Dr. Chaos. As we find the clues we put them on the evidence board.

This is basically like the wall that the police use to take pictures of the prisoners. I took the kid's pictures in front of it.

This is a poster of different Bible characters. Throughout the week I would give clues for each Bible character, and the children would try to figure out which one I was talking about.
These are just a few of the decorations that I used for my Searching for the Truth Bible School a couple of years ago. What are some things that you have done for VBS?
