Anna Konig is being made to join a group of German Amish immigrants on their journey to the New World. However Anna does not want to leave her grandparents and the life that she knows behind. Anna is the only one in their community that can speak English, so she really has no other choice. As the group of Amish immigrants embark on their journey they are met with different obstacles along the way. Once they have boarded the Charming Nancy they think that everything will go smoothly in their journey to the New World. Little do they know that the trials have just begun. They are faced with storms, sickness, a crew that does not want them aboard, and many other trials. Through it all their faith and trust in God does not waver.
Bairn is the ship's carpenter and does not want to have any thing to do with the passengers on the ship. He does trust or depend on anybody but himself. His main goal in life is to make enough money and become captain of his own ship. However has he begins to watch Anna and her people he begins to question what really is important in life. As the journey continues he becomes more and more unsure of his life and what lies ahead. He is faced with many difficult tasks on the ship(as the ship's carpenters) and does not know if there is a way to get the tasks accomplished. Anna keeps telling him that God will help him through his trials, but Bairn does not want to give his life to God.
Will Anna, Bairn, and the rest of the people make it safely to the New World or will the trials, obstacles, and tasks prove too much for them to handle? Find out by reading Anna's Crossing .

I was excited to read this book, but was disappointed with some of the details. While the book was full of adventure and excitement, some of the content was inappropriate. Some of the instances may have actually taken place on the many ships going to the New World, I don't think that they needed to be in a Christian Fiction book.
I received this free complimentary copy of the book from Revell Publishers for review purposes.
