Marisa St. George has been released from her lucrative job in Atlanta and has nowhere to go. She has no choice but to return home to the small town in Texas where she grew up. The only problem with returning home is she wants to stay away from home and the memories of home for the rest of her life.  Upon returning home she accepts a position as business manager at the Rainbow’s End resort. At first she thinks this job is a piece of cake and definitely a major step backward in her career. But the more she gets to know the people and all that the job entails, she finds that she actually enjoys her new job more than she ever thought possible. The person most responsible for her change in attitude is Blake Kendall. Blake is a guest at the resort with his own set of troubles and secrets. Blake and Marisa are instantly attracted to each other, but the many secrets between may tear them apart forever.

I enjoyed reading this book, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I did not get to read the first two books in the series, but I hope to go back and read them. "As Love Blooms" has many lessons that we can learn from including telling the truth and depending on God. The book is filled with lots of adventure, romance, and even some mysterious happenings.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I believe that you will also. This action packed book will have you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put the book down until you have 'solved the case'. Lynette Eason has another winner with No Place to Hide. She is a master at putting suspense, romance, and action together. I cannot wait to read her next book.

"Chance of Loving You"

by Terri Blackstock, Candace Calvert, and Susan May Warren
Picture
"Chance of Loving You" is a three-in-one collection of wonderfully written short stories by very talented authors.

In the first story "For the Love of Money" by Terri Blackstock, Julie Sheffield is working as a waitress to try and earn enough money to support her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Enters Blake Addock a kind and generous man who has reached a financial setback. He spends the entire night sitting at one of Julie's tables ordering everything on the menu trying to forget about his troubles. When he realizes he doesn't have enough to pay for his dinner and leave the nice waitress a tip, he does the only thing he can think of - he tears a lottery ticket in half and writes an IOU on the back of it. When the torn in half ticket becomes the winning ticket, he tracks Julie down to try and get the other half. Now that they are both millionaires, they aren't sure what to do. They have different opinions on what should be down with the money, but a growing affection for each other only complicates matters. Will they find what they are both looking for, happiness and a way to make their dreams come, or will they become bitter enemies?

The second story "The Recipe" by Candace Calvert is a story of love, hope, and learning to follow God's plans. Aimee Curran has tried many different career paths without much success. When she has one more chance to try and make something of yourself before her self-imposed deadline, she decides she wants to enter a Vegan Valentine Bake-Off to try and win a scholarship to culinary school. Everything seems to be going well until she meets Lucas Marchal. Lucas is doing everything in his power to try and convince his grandmother to keep living. When he meets Aimee, he thinks he may have found an ally and someone who understands him. When he asks Aimee to step-in and spend the night with his grandmother on the eve of the bake-off, Aimee doesn't have time for him. Everything begins to unravel for both of them or so they think, but they both realize that God is still in control.

In the final story " Hook, Line, and Sinker" by Susan May Warren, we find Abigail Cushman and Ross Springer, childhood friends who have parted ways over a misunderstanding. When they are thrust back into each others lives sparks begin to fly. They are both trying to avoid each other, but at the same time trying to forgive one another and move on with their lives. When they both enter Deep Haven's annual fishing contest, memories and feelings of the past begin to resurface. Will they finally realize that they belong together or will they part ways with each once and for all?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this collection of stories. The stories were very well written and while they were each unique, they fit together perfectly. The book is very well paced and easy to read. I was able to sit down easily read each story without having to worry about interruptions. I was also reminded of several different Bible truths as I read the book and they could not have come at a better time. I would recommend this book to my family and friends.
