I have been studying about how to have a heart for God. This week I focused on words. You may say that is a strange topic to study when having a heart for God, but in reality it is one of the most telling signs about how close are heart really is to God because eventually what is in heart will come out in your words. You would be surprised about how much your words tell about you. If you are constantly arguing, cussing, complaining, etc, then you are given the impression that you do not care anything at all about God. But if you are always encouraging others, polite, and praising God, then you are telling those around you that you really do care about God. Here are a few thing that stood out at me this week.
1. We should not talk proudly or arrogantly.
2. Our words should always be pleasing to God.
3. We need to keep our tongues from speaking evil.
4. We need to ask God to set a watch and a door on our lips.
5. When we hold our tongues, the Bible says that we are being wise. We do not always have to speak our minds.
6. Our words will either "kill" or "pump life into" others.
7. We can keep ourselves out of trouble by controlling our mouth.
8. We will give an account for every word that we speak.
9.We should not allow corrupt communication to come out of our mouth.
10. We need to be slow to speak.
I know how hard it is to control our tongue, but we need to ask God to help us do so. Have A Wonderful Day!!!
