Lessons on The Believer's True Identity in Christ

So many times we try to "find ourselves" in how much money we have, the friends we have, our career, our possessions, etc. But doing so will eventually lead to sorrow and low self-esteem. We need to find our identity in Christ, and be who He wants us to be. If we do so, we will live our lives as happier and better than we could have ever imagined. This week I studied what our true identity should be.

1. We need to get our identity from Christ and not things of the world.
2. Once we are saved, Jesus makes us free! We do not need to really worry about all of the things of the world because in the long run they do not really matter.
3. We are alive in Christ. Christ gives us eternal life. So the next time we are feeling depressed, we just need to remember what Christ has done for us and the great gift He has given us.
4. As believers, we are all one in Christ. There is no need to try to be better than each other or fight among ourselves. We are all on the same team.
5. We have an unlimited supply of blessings from God! This is so wonderful. We do not need to worry about worldly possessions because we know that God will always take of us and meet our needs.
6. We are children of God! We have the greatest Father that we can ever have. He will always be there for us no matter what.
7. We are God's workmanship. He made each of us exactly how He wants us.
8. We are complete in Christ!!! If we have Christ, then we have all that we need.

There are times when we all need comfort or we need to comfort others. God is the ultimate example of how to be a comfort to someone and He is the best Comforter that there is. So this week, we are going to look at what the Bible says about comfort.

1. We should not turn away the comfort that someone offers us. It may be hard to except sometimes because we are hurting so bad, but we should not turn down the comfort they offer us.
2. The Bible will give us comfort.
3. We need to comfort others just like God comforts us.
4. God will always give us the comfort that we need.
5. We need to thank God for His comforts.

This week I have been studying about doing what the Bible says. There is no way to do a complete study in one week, but here are a few things that I learned this week.

1. We need to depart from evil and do good.
2. If we trust in God and do good, He will take care of us.
3. It is a joy and honor to do God's Will.
4. We need to do God's Will.
5. We should do all things without murmurings and disputings.
6. We can do all things with God's help and strength.
7. If we know what is good and we do not do it, then we are sinning.
8. God will show us what is good and what He wants us to do.
9. Everything we do should be pleasing to God.
10. We need to give thanks to God for all that He has done for us.

Lessons on Forgiveness

This week's lessons are about FORGIVENESS. Forgiveness, for whatever reason, is hard to accept and hard to give. We want to hang onto grudges or hang things over someone's head. However, the Bible tells us that we should not do these things. Can you imagine if God held things over our heads or wanted to stay mad at us instead of forgiving us? We would be in a whole heap of trouble. Thank God that He does forgive us! Here are some things that stood out to me this week.

1. We need to forgive others just as God has forgiven us.
2. We should be happy that God has forgiven our sins.
3. Jesus is the Only One Who has the power to forgive our sins.
4. We should keep forgiven people no matter how many times they hurt us or wrong us.
5. It is a blessing to have our sins forgiven.
