Millie Longfellow grew up in an orphanage and is determined to be the best nanny ever. Unfortunately, her methods and shenanigans are not very welcome among the high society people that she works for and she finds herself being fired from every position that she obtains.
Everett Mulberry has quite unexpectedly become the guardian to three children who scare off every nanny that he hires. He is about to leave for his summer vacation, but he cannot find anyone who is willing to be a nanny to the children. At his wit’s end, he tries the nanny agency one last time and bumps into Millie. They get off to quite a rough start and now neither one of them wants anything to do with the other.
The matron at the employment agency just wants to get Everett and Millie off of her hands for good, so she gives them one last chance – with each other. Neither Everett nor Millie is too happy about this arrangement, so they both decline. Upon arriving back home, Everett is given an ultimatum from his girlfriend – either hire a nanny or she will leave him behind. Everett then has no choice but to find Millie and beg her to come and work for him. Millie instantly falls in love with the children and agrees to come and work for Everett. Millie’s presence soon has the entire Mulberry household and the entire town of Newport in an uproar. Will Millie be able to keep her job or will she find herself dismissed from yet another position? This is the first book that I have ever read by Jen Turano and I was not disappointed. From the very beginning I was captivated with the story. The story is very well paced and there is never a dull moment. The book contains many exciting adventures, fun, humor, romance, a bit of mystery, and lessons that we can all learn from. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good book to read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
