Abby Hart is a homicide detective for the Long Beach Police Department in California. She likes what she does and she is good at her job. When a serial killer is stalking and killing elderly women, her best lead is a private investigator named Luke Murphy. Abby can’t stand Luke and doesn’t want him to be the witness that could possibly identify the killer. As she begins to work with Luke, she finds that he may not be as irritating as she had initially thought. While working together to solve the serial killer case, Abby and Luke discover that they both have ties to another case – a 27-year-old murder. Abby’s parents and Luke’s uncle were all victims in a deadly restaurant fire. The case has never been solved and everyone but Abby and Luke wants to keep the case from being solved. As Luke and Abby investigate the crime that took their loved ones life, they begin to realize that somebody will do whatever it takes to make sure the case remains cold.

I enjoyed reading Drawing Fire by Janice Cantore and I cannot wait until the second book comes out. This is the first book that I have ever read by Janice Cantore, but I definitely plan to read more of her books. If you enjoy fast paced action, suspense, and mystery, then this book is for you. I am glad that I discovered Janice Cantore’s book, and I am looking forward to reading more books by her.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tyndale Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
